It’s that time of year again…

This week marks the return of the world famous annual Agatha Christie week. Every September, thousands of Christie fans flock to Torquay to enjoy numerous Christie inspired games, activities and events that take place in and around Devon to celebrate the Queen of Crimes birthday (15th September). Whether it is attending the Vintage Ball, playing some 1920’s pitch-and-putt or indulging in the splendour of the Agatha Christie Theatre Company’s new production of Murder on the Nile, there’s so many ways to get involved and celebrate Agatha’s legacy.

This year’s celebrations kicked off on Sunday the 9th September with the traditional Agatha Christie Fete on Torquay seafront, where stallholders dressed up in their 1920s and ‘30s best, with jazz bands, a Punch and Judy show, and fairground rides.

But never fear, it’s not too late to take part in the garden parties to die for, lunches at Burgh Island, or the exclusive Twilight Tours of Greenway and plenty of Devon Cream Teas (Agatha was a big fan of Devon cream!). If you’re quick, you’ll still be able to find competitions, book launches, panel events (with guest appearances from Mathew Prichard and radio Devon presenter David Fitzgerald among others) and there’s even an Agatha Christie Sea Swim – a nod to Agatha’s love of bathing. And finally, in true Christie fashion there will be a murder mystery around every corner: on steam trains, in spooky country inns, and in rambling seaside pubs. Poirot is ever on-hand should there be a case or two to solve… especially when there’s a twist of murder in the air.

So for Agatha Christie and Crime fans alike, don’t miss out on the fun and excitement to be had in Torquay. Dress up in your finest 1920’s garb and join in the murder mystery fun while you still can!
